ABOUT HOUSE OF SKA

The Art of Runway & Modeling Studio

House of Ska is a Tampa Bay area runway and modeling studio specializing in training of modeling techniques for the commercial and high fashion industry.

Runway training includes working with models to evaluate walks and using specialized techniques to create a strong, standardized walk fit for any Runway. Models are put through preparation in order to be able to walk in any major Runway Show. Areas of focus include, technicalities, bad habits, industry advice, assessment of walks, versatility to designers and working with given designs and outfits.

Models are given advice, tips and guidance on what makes a successful and strong Runway Walk and what is current and sort after in today’s market. Models are then assessed on their walks individually and get to work with Ska on a one to one basis. It is important to both perfect and practice the walk, as well as build confidence for the Runway. A number of challenges are brought into the class, from working with fabrics, coats and accessories, to walking in groups, successful spins, turns, walking in pairs and group formations. A model should leave equipped to walk any high fashion Runway Show and understand exactly what is required of them by a designer.
